Dipping sauces play such an important role in Asian cuisine. They can instantly customize any dish from spring rolls, dumplings, and more with salty, sweet, sour, umami, or spicy flavors. You can find your favorite with these five must try sauces that come together in a snap!
- Sweet & Sour Sauce:
- 1 teaspoon Knorr Liquid Seasoning
- 4 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 2 tablespoons honey
- ½ cup apple juice
- 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
- Peanut Sauce:
- 1 tablespoon extra light olive oil
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 4 tablespoons creamy peanut butter
- 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
- 2 tablespoons Knorr Liquid Seasoning
- 1/2 cup chicken stock
- 1/2 teaspoon roasted cashew, crushed
- Garlic Vinegar:
- 8 tablespoons Knorr Liquid Seasoning
- 8 tablespoons black vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- Sweet Chili:
- 1 tablespoon Knorr Liquid Seasoning
- 1 tablespoon duo jiao chili peppers
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1/2 cup apple juice
- 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
- Ponzu:
- 1 lemon
- 5 tablespoons Knorr Liquid Seasoning
- 5 tablespoons apple juice
- 3 tablespoons mirin
- 2 tablespoons dried bonito flakes (katsuobushi)
- 1 piece dried kelp (kombu)
- 1/2 teaspoon lemon zest
Sweet & Sour Sauce: In a small pan, add in the Knorr Liquid Seasoning, ketchup, rice vinegar, honey, and apple juice. Mix until combined. Over low heat, bring it to a simmer. Add in the cornstarch slurry to thicken the sauce, while stirring frequently.
Peanut Sauce: In a small pan, over low heat, add the extra light olive oil and garlic. Cook until aromatic for about 30 seconds. Then transfer in the creamy peanut butter, hoisin sauce, and Knorr Liquid Seasoning. Stir for about 1 minute. Then add the chicken stock. Constantly stir. Bring to a boil. Lastly, topped with roasted cashew.
Garlic Vinegar: In a bowl, mix in the Knorr Liquid Seasoning, black vinegar, sesame oil, and garlic.
Sweet Chili: In a small pan, add in the Knorr Liquid Seasoning, duo jiao chili peppers, rice vinegar, maple syrup, garlic, and apple juice. Mix until combined. Over low heat, bring it to a simmer. Add in the cornstarch slurry to thicken the sauce, while stirring frequently.
Ponzu: In a bowl, add in the lemon juice, Knorr Liquid Seasoning, apple juice, mirin, dried bonito flakes, and dried kelp. Let it steep in the fridge overnight. Discard the dried bonito flakes and dried kelp. Lastly, add in the lemon zest.
