Try our version of Halal Chicken Biryani made with Knorr Halal Chicken Flavored Seasoning for rich, deep flavor that will bring your family back to the table time and time again.
- 600 grams chicken (boneless or with bone)
- 1 tsp. Knorr Halal Chicken Flavored Seasoning
- 1 1/2 tbsp. ginger/garlic paste
- 3/4 fried onions
- 2 tomatoes purée
- 1 cup yogurt
- 1 tbsp. lemon juice
- 1 tsp. green chili paste
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. red chili powder
- 1/2 tsp. chili flake
- 1 tbsp. coriander
- 1 tsp. cumin (whole)
- 1/2 tsp. shah zeera (kala zeera)
- 1/2 tsp. cardamom powder (green elachi)
- 1 tsp. garam masala
- 1/4 nutmeg powder
- 10-12 dried plum
- 3 tbsp. oil
- 2 bay leaf
- 10-12 black pepper corn
- 2-3 black cardamom
- 3-4 cinnamon stick (dalchini)
- 4 green cardamom
- 2-4 cloves
- 1 piece mace/nutmeg
- 2 cups rice
Chicken in ginger/garlic paste, fried onions. Add yogurt, lemon juice, green chili paste.
Add salt, Knorr Halal Chicken Flavored Seasoning, red chili powder, chili flake, coriander powder, cumin seeds, shah zeera (kala zeera), cardamom powder (green elachi), garam masala, nutmeg powder, dried plum, tomato purée.
Pls adjust spices accordingly.
Combine all the spices in a big bowl and mix well with chicken. Refrigerate the marinated chicken for 1/2 hour
Preparing biryani qorma:
In a saucepan heat oil. Add bay, black pepper corn, black cardamom, cinnamon stick (dalchini), green cardamom, cloves, mace/javetri. When u smell the aroma add marinated chicken. Stir until chicken changes color.
Cover and cook for 15 minutes or until chicken is tender. If there is access water cook on medium high flame and dry the access gravy. Bhunofy until oil separates. Your biryani qorma is ready.
I like to use Sela rice for Biryani.
Soak them for at least an hour in lukewarm water.
When boiling rice, add cloves, black pepper corn, squeeze few drop of lemon or drop in lemon slices.
Spread an even layer of chicken qorma, 2nd layer of boiled rice, repeat.
Sprinkle fried onion. (you may also add food color).
Give dum on stove for 15 minutes or in an oven.
Preheat oven on 400F and leave on dum for 15 minutes. Please make sure your pot is oven safe if you use oven.
Garnish with freshly chopped cilantro and slit cut green chilies.
Delicious Biryani is ready to be served!
