A Chinese-inspired dumpling dish that’s one of the most popular street-eats in the whole of the Philippines, our siomai recipe is second to none. Steamed, rather than fried, these Cantonese-style dumplings are best served with soy sauce and calamansi.
Combine all the ingredients except the wrappers, place them in a food processor and mix well.
Dampen the first wrapper, place 1 tsp of the siomai mixture in the center. Gather the sides of the wrapper until they meet in the center. Press together and make sure the wrapper is stable and well-packed.
Steam for 30-40 minutes and serve with your favorite siomai sauce.
