Our quick and easy Chinese recipe is ideal for those who want to whip up a speedy dinner or to make the most of leftover ingredients. This chicken, ham and vegetables recipe is tasty, simple, and sure to become a family favorite in no time at all. With its playful alternating patterning, sweetened sauce, and the inclusion of Knorr® Chicken Broth Mix, this is a dish that can’t really go wrong.
Steam your chicken breast for 20 minutes, then take away the bone and cut into 12 pieces.
Slice the ham into 12 pieces. Bring a pan of water to a boil and add the mushrooms, salt, sugar, and rock sugar. Allow to cook for 25 minutes, then cut the mushrooms into 12 pieces.
Arrange the chicken, ham, and mushroom pieces into two rows on a dish. Alternate between the three ingredients to achieve a traffic light effect: chicken, ham, mushroom, chicken, ham, mushroom, etc. Steam for 8-10 minutes.
Trim and wash the Chinese broccoli. Blanch in boiling water with a pinch of salt for approximately 1 minute, then set aside.
Add oil to a heated wok, then combine the sauce ingredients in the wok and bring to a boil. Use the starch solution to help the sauce reach the desired thickness.
Pour the sauce over the dish and serve hot.
