A knockout combination of Knorr® Chicken Broth Mix and Knorr® Clear Chicken Broth gives this dish a satisfying depth that’s sure to make it a family favorite.
- 10 pieces abalone
- 12 oz rib (pork or beef)
- 8 pcs Chinese mushroom
- 8 pcs dried scallop
- 5 slices fresh ginger
- 1 stalk green onion, chopped
- dash of water
- 1/4 cup ham, shredded
- Seasoning: 1 tbsp Knorr® Chicken Broth Mix, 22 oz Knorr® Clear Chicken Broth, 10 oz sake, 1 1/2 oz rock sugar, 1 tbsp sesame oil, 1/2 tsp dark soy sauce, cornstarch solution – 1 tsp cornstarch mixed with water
Wash and clean all of your ingredients. Soak both the mushrooms and the dried scallop.
Blanch the ribs in boiling water. Follow this up by blanching the abalone with ginger and green onion.
Add the abalone, mushroom, scallop, ribs to a large stockpot. Reserve a small bowl of sake for use later, then place the remaining sake, along with all other seasoning ingredients in the pot.
Stew for approximately 2 hours. Once complete, add the reserved sake.
Remove the abalone and plate them up on top of the red cabbage leaves. Add the starch solution to the soup stock and stir to thicken. Pour over the abalone.
Garnish with ham and serve hot.
