Ingredients
  • 1/2 Knorr Halal Chicken Bouillon Cube
  • 150 grams (3/4 cup) red lentils, rinsed
  • 1 small carrot, peeled and grated
  • 2 garlic cloves, grated
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon tomato paste
  • 750 milliliters (3 cups) water

In a large pot over medium heat, heat the olive oil. Add the onion and cook for 3 minutes stirring using a wooden spoon from time to time until soft.

Stir in the grated garlic, grated carrot, salt, and pepper, and continue cooking for 2 minutes. Add the tomato paste, paprika, turmeric, and cinnamon, and stir to combine all the ingredients.

Add the red lentils, water, and Knorr Halal Chicken Bouillon Cube. Cover the pot and simmer the soup mixture for 30 minutes, or until the red lentils become tender.

Remove the pot from the heat and allow to cool for a few minutes before mixing.

Taste and adjust the seasoning if necessary. Return the soup to the pot over medium heat, and simmer for 5 minutes.
