Learn how to prepare this delicious Chinese dish with traditional ingredients to enjoy the perfect comfort food any time of the year. Lotus root, dried scallop, Chinese mushroom and preserved sausage combine to give the dish a satisfying richness, while Knorr® Chicken Broth Mix lends it a deep umami flavor.
- 23 oz lotus root
- 11 oz fish paste
- 1 dried scallop, soaked
- 3 pcs Chinese mushroom, soaked
- 1 stalk green onion, chopped
- 1 piece Chinese preserved sausage
- Seasoning: 1 tbsp vegetable oil, 1 tsp cornstarch, 1 tbsp Knorr® Chicken Broth Mix, 1/4 tsp white pepper, 4 oz water, 1 1/2 tbsp garlic, chopped
Wash the lotus root, then peel and grate it. Make sure you save 1 slice to use as garnish.
Steam the dried scallop and tear it into pieces. Rinse the Chinese mushroom and shred them into small pieces. Clean and chop the Chinese preserved sausage into small pieces.
Add oil to a heated wok and toss in the garlic, sausage, and mushroom.
In a large mixing bowl, combine all of the above ingredients along with the green onion and seasoning ingredients. Stir until sticky.
Plate up the lotus root mixture and place the lotus root slice and dried scallop on top as a garnish. Steam for 40 minutes, then add a dash of cooking oil and soy sauce. Serve immediately.
