Halal Bricks with Meat and Vegetables

These bricks are stuffed with minced meat, vegetables and Knorr Halal Beef Bouillon Cubes and baked into small, crunchy flavorful bites.

Ingredients
  • For the filling:
  • 1 Knorr Halal Beef Bouillon Cube
  • 200g (7 ounces ) ground beef
  • 150g (5 ounces) peas
  • 150g (5 ounces) carrots, cubed
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

 

  • For the phyllo dough:
  • 250g (8 ounces) phyllo dough
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • For the flour paste:
  • 2 tablespoons flour

In a pan over medium heat, add the olive oil and onions and cook for 5 minutes until the onions are translucent.

Add the garlic and cook for one minute.

Add ground beef, Knorr Halal Beef Bouillon Cube, salt and pepper, and cook for 5 minutes or until the ground beef is fully cooked through. Set aside to cool.

Fill a pot with water. Add the carrots, peas, and a pinch of salt. Cook for 5 minutes. Drain the water and add the vegetables to the ground beef mixture.

Place the sheets of phyllo dough on your work surface and cut them into 6cm by 30cm rectangles.

In a small bowl, whisk together the flour and water to create a flour paste.

Place the briwat on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the triangles with vegetable oil, then bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 30 minutes until golden brown. Serve immediately.
