Thinly sliced beef and a strong marinade containing oyster sauce, Knorr® Liquid Seasoning, cooking wine, sesame oil, sugar, and corn starch, ensure that this classic beef broccoli recipe is quick and easy to whip up from scratch.
- 1 lb beef chuck roast – cut into ½ inch slices
- ½ cup cornstarch
- salt and pepper
- 1 large (1 ½ cups) yellow onion, peeled and cut into half rings
- 1 lb broccoli, cut into small pieces
- ¼ cup canola oil
- ½ cup water or beef stock
- 4 tbsp Knorr® Liquid Seasoning
- 2 tbsp oyster sauce
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tbsp sesame oil
Pre-heat the oil for 2 to 3 minutes.
In a bowl, toss the beef with corn starch, salt, and pepper, then cook in the hot oil for approximately 5 minutes or until browned.
Remove the beef and any excess oil from the pan and add the onion. Cook for 1 minute.
Add the broccoli, stir, cover, and cook for a further 2 ½ minutes.
Combine Knorr® Liquid Seasoning, oyster sauce, sesame oil, sugar and the leftover corn starch in a bowl. Add water and dissolve well.
Pour the mixture into the pot, add the beef, and cook for a further 2 minutes at a low heat. Serve with steamed rice.
